A leader’s sphere of influence is generally much larger and accordingly the destruction that they can wreak is much higher in volume. And while their good traits can positively influence more people, their toxic traits can conversely destroy more careers and also have a ripple effect by teaching bad leadership skills down the line!
So I coped.
And today for all those startup founders that are struggling like I did – I want to share some of those coping mechanisms that kept me sane. And I hope that some of them work for you.

And this because every significant achievement that the world has ever witnessed has been led by a great leader.
But so has every great atrocity!
And while most of us secretly believe that we are very good at leading people – that we deserve positions of leadership and responsibility early in our lives – the truth couldn’t be farther from our delusions.

Think of life like a mountain that you’re climbing and after a period of intense stress and effort, you reach a plateau, where you take a well-deserved break.
That plateau is your comfort zone!
And while it’s absolutely alright to take a breather there, when you put your head down, decide to snuggle down on that plateau and refuse to look at the rest of the looming mountain, then you limit the potential of what you can
And that is a crime.
Evolution has designed all mammals to instinctively seek out things that minimise stress. And that is why your brain keeps you in the comfort zone, where all is familiar, known and you won’t get eaten by anything large and hairy with many sharp teeth!
But all growth conversely, comes when you step out of it!
