There are proven ways to hack your productivity. To make sure that work gets done and with a minimum of effort. And the secret (that’s not so secret) is that you have to first hack your mood! Find out, with tech entrepreneur, Ritu Srivastava!
The next time you see someone do something that you can’t and feel a tingle of admiration, that’s the moment to ask yourself, “Do I wish I could do that?”.
And then listen to the answer!
Chances are that your mind will automatically respond, “I could if I wanted to, but I don’t want to!”.
And that’s the giveaway.
That’s the defence mechanism we’ve built for ourselves – that we could if we wanted to, but we don’t because we don’t want to.
That we have better things to do.
Because then it’s a choice – something we control – versus a vulnerability that we don’t want to expose to the world.
The weekend is here.
You start the day with your morning cuppa and decide that this is going to be it. This is THE day when you get it all done – all those nagging little personal household items that you have been putting off forever – Today is the day you crack it!
Cut to four hours later, its lunchtime and you’re lolly-lagging around in your PJs, the TV is blaring, your disgruntled spouse is glaring at you over her phone and you haven’t gotten a thing done.
Again!
This is the sound of your weekend going to hell.
But…there is always a silver lining!
Life is nothing but a series of choices. And accordingly, we make hundreds of choices everyday. And the crazy part
Do you recognize this person? She gets hung up on the small stuff! Watch her dwell endlessly on little details and
“I don’t know if you do yoga or stretching but this was the best way that I could think of to explain it…
You know when you do any challenging stretch and the part of your body being stretched protests…it basically hurts?
And when it hurts, you automatically hold your breath and tense up. Your entire body tenses up in sympathy for the pain that the afflicted muscle is struggling with.
And then your yoga teacher (or common sense) will tell you…relax into the stretch.
Breathe out.
Relax all those tense muscles.
Instead of pulling away from the pain, lean into it.
And magically, the pain lessens.
It actually flirts with pleasure occasionally!
